Description
The three-winged mansion, which is situated idyllically off the federal road B 76 close to the bay of Eckernförde, dates from the 18th century. Subsequently it was altered several times.
Today the estate belongs to the Bethmann Hollweg family. It can only be visited on a guided group tour by appointment because it is used agriculturally. Among other things an important collection of portraits is presented. It shows the contacts of the Reventlow family, which owned the estate for a long time, to the Danish Empire. The interior decoration is also of considerable value – tapestries, stucco ceilings, fireplaces, chinaware – and the well-equipped historical library.
