Museum DITMARSIUM, Burg's pharmacy, trade and shipping museum,
an experience museum for families and for young and old, contemporary, educational and exciting with a self-determined interactive tablet tour for adults and especially for schoolchildren.
With information, pictures and videos on all topics and exhibits. You decide what and how much you want to learn. After a tablet tour, you almost become an expert yourself and the schoolchildren learn about and understand the old trades, Burger shipping and the old Burger country pharmacy through schoolchildren.
Instead of just taking a look through the keyhole, you are now fully involved, with the watchmaker making a pocket watch, the shoemaker making shoes by hand, the dentist, the saddler upholstering armchairs or operating the plucking machine, You can experience a complete old country pharmacy as a pharmaceutical manufactory with all its rooms and equipment and the Burger shipping industry from peat shipping to container ships during an introductory film on the relief floor map and in the showcases with ship models, exhibits and stories.
Press a button and something happens at the 32 illuminated buttons throughout the museum, the coffee grinder at the merchant's, the drill at the dentist's or the door to the poison cabinet. Try it out! The ‘Schiffer-Café’ is a café and exhibition at the same time, with a presentation of the shipping routes of Burger from Kudensee to Kattenstieg, the former harbour of Burger. On the café's covered terrace, you can enjoy coffee and cake in the middle of the blooming pharmacy garden, through which there are regular guided tours. A personalised guided tour of the pharmacy can be booked separately.
