‘Perceive with all your senses’ This is the motto of the lively museum village. Hardly any exhibits in showcases or explanations on display boards, but plenty to ‘grasp’ in the truest sense of the word! Throughout the year, the living museum invites visitors to take part in numerous events that focus on rural crafts and trades as well as traditional themes such as the harvest festival. Participation is expressly encouraged and is a particular attraction for families with younger children!
Arrival by Public Transport
Thanks to its central location, the museum village is only a few minutes' walk from Volksdorf underground station. The U1 underground line and several bus routes run from there.
Admission to the Volksdorf Museum Village during general opening hours is free of charge.
In order not to separate the old village from the new village, admission is free of charge during general opening hours. Visits to the houses are only possible as part of a guided tour or during events. The entrance fees for the respective events in the museum village are published with the dates. As members support the maintenance and operation of the museum village with their contribution, admission is free for members on the days of the events, except for the farmers' markets.
You can find out about other offers of the museum village on the website or at the office.
