Storm described the Fingaholi like this: “A strange decoration, a misshapen and ghastly gruesome picture…”. The exhibition in the small museum presents information on Storm, Schwabstedt and the castle. The history and the significance of the village are explained.
The collection of local history artefacts includes objects from the Stone Age, e.g. hatchets, grindstones, and a largely intact fossilised stool. Visitors can also see mediaeval bricks from the castle chapel assembled in the shape of a monastery. Numerous photos explain aspects of local history. Short texts tell the stories of famous Schwabstedters, e.g. Theodor Storm.
