The first sculptures were put up in the Nortorf landscape park on the initiative of a supportive association. The town of Nortorf, which is situated between the two nature parks of Holstein, has spent a considerable sum to create a cultural centre with a distinctive atmosphere.
Today the collection comprises 23 sculptures. It offers a representative cross-section of works by renowned sculptors of Schleswig-Holstein that cannot to be seen anywhere else in public. Next to the sculpture park, the Bellerbektal offers delightful walks through the beautiful environs of the town. Another sculpture park still under construction, which is established by the Kock-Stiftung (Kock foundation), is situated on Gut Seekamp (Seekamp manor) close to Kiel-Schilksee.
The first sculptures were set up in Nortorf’s landscape garden in 1987. Today, the collection comprises 23 sculptures and works of plastic arts. It offers a representative cross-section of renowned sculptors from Schleswig-Holstein, likely the only one of its kind that is publicly accessible.
