„Zimtapfel“, „Charlamowski“ and „Filippa“ are only a few examples of the apple sorts that are collected in the livestock “Obstmuseum” (Fruit museum). Each variety is represented by living apple trees. In addition, there are pears on an espalier and plums as well as tools for fruit processing.
The living museum showcases the origin of apples from faraway China and how monasteries and manor houses spread them across Europe. Themed gardens with baroque elements such as pergolas and trellises provide insight into the garden culture of each era.
