Eine Nähmaschine, bezeichnet "Lind's improved taylor", mit gusseisernem Korpus, sehr massiv mit breiten, geschwungenen Rollenfüßen auf Korkstopfen. Die Füße sind von den Rollen her als Akanthusblätter hochgezogen. Angetrieben wird die Nähmaschine mit einem Schwungrad, die Kurbel fehlt leider. Diese treibt ein kleineres Rad an, welches den Nähkopf bewegt. Die Fadenführung ist mehrfach verstellbar und gefedert. Der Korpus ist mit floralem Design in Grün und Gold bemalt. Bis zur Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde noch mit der Hand genäht, erst danach kamen Nähmaschinen zum Einsatz. Vor der Einführung der Elektrizität wurden Tischnähmaschinen mit einer Handkurbel bedient.
